Ireland strike gold at UCI Paracycling Road World Cup
The Irish Paracycling Squad started Rome’s UCI Paracycling Road World Cup in fine style yesterday with two podium places.
Time-trial win for Rohan
Mark Rohan won the HC1 time trial race with a time of 26’17.89 – just 1.91 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
Also claiming a medal were female tandem pairing Catherine Walsh and Fran Meehan. The girls secured silver in their time-trial, which was won by Canada. Ireland’s second female tandem pairing Katie-George Dunlevy and pilot Sandra Fitzgerald finished in ninth place to secure their first road top-ten placing.
