Paralympics Ireland is committed to “leading elite Irish Paralympic athletes in achieving sustained competitive excellence and inspiring the nation of Ireland”.
We want to use London 2012 to inspire more people with a disability to take part in grassroots parasport. We hope that increased recognition and involvement will help us develop a better talent “pathway” with our member sports. This should ensure continued Irish medal success at Rio 2016 and beyond (see our Strategic Plan 2010 -2014)
If you would like to take part or get involved in disability sport, please get in touch with us or check out our member organisations. Only a select few may be skilled enough to compete for Ireland at the Paralympic Games but every Irish person with a disability should be able to take part in sport of their choice.
