Katie-George (left) is a gifted sportswoman who has competed at international level in athletics, swimming and rowing. Prior to declaring for Ireland, she won gold with Great Britain’s LTA mixed four crew in the World Rowing Championships of 2004 and 2005.
She transferred to cycling in August 2011 and has adapted quickly. Piloted by Louise Moriarty, Katie-George achieved a promising 11th place in 2011′s UCI World Paracycling Road Championships held in Denmark.
