Support Us

“Since 2009, Paralympics Ireland has helped me access some of the world’s best coaching, sports-science, medical and psychologist support. This was a key factor behind my two gold medals at London 2012 and towards the team’s overall success. As an Irish athlete, I’m extremely proud and grateful for the help”

Mark Rohan, Double Paralympic HC1 Handcycling Champion, London 2012

We believe that Irish Paralympic athletes should be well supported in their quest to excel on the world stage. Irish Paralympic sport is partially state-funded but corporate and charitable giving helps us to provide our full range of programmes:

International Competition

The next Summer Paralympic Games take place in Rio 2016 but Irish athletes are preparing for a busy competitive schedule. In 2015, Paralympics Ireland will lead teams to IPC World Championships in Athletics and Swimming.

Athlete Support and Equipment

We recruit the best coaches, sports-science and medical staff to guide Irish Paralympic athletes to their highest performance. This is expensive but ensures that Ireland outperforms many greater-resourced countries.

Talent Development

We work closely with our member organisations to develop “pathways” for elite athletes. We also aim to encourage more people with a disability to participate in grassroots parasport – every Irish person should be able to enjoy a sport of their choice.

How you can help:

High-performance sport is expensive, so we’d be thrilled if our supporters could raise additional funds on our behalf.

Many of our followers ran in the Women’s Mini Marathon and Dublin Marathon in the run-up to London 2012. If you’re keen to raise funds for Paralympics Ireland, you can do so on JustGiving by  creating your online fundraising page for any event of your choice and many other local and national events taking place during 2015.

You can also donate on a regular through Direct Debit or a on one-off basis by clicking here.

Charity of the Year

If you wish to be a corporate donor of Paralympics Ireland, we can provide fundraising tips, ideas and support to ensure you get the most out of the partnership. Choosing Paralympics Ireland as your “Official Charity” could be a great way to engage your workforce and build morale.
