Jonathan joined the Irish Paralympic swim team in 2008 and competed at the 2010 World Championships and 2011 European Championships, Jonathan finished fifth in the worlds and eighth in the Europeans.
Jonathan has represented Ireland at multiple European and World Championships, including the 2019 World Para-Swimming Championships which were held in London. His most notable appearance was at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, as part of Team Ireland.
The NC Limerick clubman is a graduate of University of Limerick in Psychology, where he trains in the Swim Ireland High Performance Unit at UL.
He was born with cerebral palsy which affects both of his legs.
