The 2012 Irish Paralympic Team will be announced in Dublin on 28 June 2012, following an extensive qualification and selection process throughout 2011/2012.
Team size
The team will likely comprise around 40 athletes in up to 10 sports. Many of Ireland’s current stars including Jason Smyth, Michael McKillop, Mark Rohan, Colin Lynch and Catherine O’Neill will aim to add London gold to their world or Paralympic titles.
The overall team size will be boosted to around 90 by a highly dedicated and professional team of staff across a variety of roles including Chef de Mission, Performance Director, Team Managers, coaches, sport science/medical and personal care support. The goal is to achieve at least five medals (three gold) for Ireland and a top-30 placing in the final table.
