The 3 person Irish Para Swimming team were forced to cancel their participation at the World Series Event in Copenhagen after their planes were grounded by the so-called 'Beast for the East.'

The trio of Ailbhe Kelly, Patrick Flanagan and Jonathan McGrath were due to compete this week but, as the weather rolled in, they were forced to miss out on this opportunity to compete against a strong field.

Para Swimming Manager for Paralympics Ireland, Hayley Burke, was disappointed to miss out on the Copenhagen event 'This was a good opportunity for 3 of our swimmers to compete against some quality competitors but we also miss out on the classification that would have taken place prior to the event meaning that we must wait until later in the year.'
