Katie George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal maintained their dominance on the road as they produced two stunning performances to win gold on the double at the Para Cycling World Cup in Ostend.

The double world champions were determined to put down a marker for the remainder of the season especially as they look forward to defending their world titles in Emmen in September.

Their dominance shone through as they first competed in the Road Race which they won in superb fashion with an eight point victory over the British tandem pair of Fachie and Hall.

They completed their double of gold medals thanks to a 19 second victory over the New Zealand duo of Foy and Van Kampen.

The other standout performance of the weekend came from Declan Slevin who returned to form as he narrowly missed out on a podium finish in the Time Trial. Richael Timothy continued to show good progress as she clinched two 7th placed finishes in the Road Race and Time Trial.

There were strong performances also from Damien Vereker, Gary O’Neill, Scott Drumond and Chris Burns but there is little doubt that the headline performance came from the star tandem duo of Katie George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal.
